November 22, 2021| Connect the Drops|
GuruJal continues to link the drops in order to conserve water in the district of Gurugram. We work with every potential stakeholder and social element. Students, as future citizens and potential groups, are critical components in this chain.
Our team went to many schools in ways to enable community mobilization. Daulatabad, Bilaspur, Hariahera, Chandla Dungarwas, Daula, Tajnagar, and Palasoli are some of the sites where we have interacted with students and explained the pond project as well as the vision and goal of GuruJal. Several topics relating to water conservation and waste management were highlighted.
Activities and various events were organised in the school for awareness sessions with the students. We came to know that children were aware about water conservation and interaction was very fruitful. As per their availability and interest further school activities like painting, writing, pond visit, model making, quiz and games will be planned in the future. Small children also participated in board activity where they penned down use of water and how they can save water on a day-to-day basis. They shared various reasons for water pollution and how an individual can contribute to prevention of pollution. They read out water chapters from their textbooks. Recital of poetry “Paani Teri Ajab Kahani ” was a very interactive event.
In Chandla Dungarwas videos on water conservation were shown and it was really pleasing to see them resonating with the same.
The children were extremely keen to participate in the upcoming art competition and nukkad natak by students of Amity School. Met two members of Yuva Sangthan and locals and briefed them about upcoming events.
